In July

Project Run and Play

I have a few little things I meant to tell you last week, but we had a tiny wrench thrown in our plans.

First of all, the girls behind Simple Simon and Project Run and Play, have a rad project going on right now that I am really excited to be a part of.  Every day in July (sorry I meant to post about this sooner), they are featuring skirt tutorials from some of your favorite seamstresses around the web, with the hope that you'll join in and sew up a few or a few dozen and donate them to girls in foster care. Read more about it here.  I had kind of told myself I was giving sewing a break this summer, but this is such a good cause, and really sewing a skirt is so easy! I can't wait to show you what I am making for it.

Second, don't you love it when your world's collide? I do. It just so happens that my brother's friend Cubby and his cute wife, opened a really great restaurant in Provo, called Cubby's Chicago Beef. It's just plain amazing plus they are all about local, natural, ingredients. It's going to quickly become the coolest place to eat in Utah County. You can count on it. I'd write a review all about it but wait--

My friends Ashleigh and Ian recently started an awesome food blog all about Provo dining establishments, and since Ian has worked as a professional chef, he's way more qualified to talk about these sorts of things. They just so happened to review Cubby's last week! Check out what they have to say about this, and many more restaurants in the Provo area. You won't be sorry.

Last but not least, I took an online class a few weeks ago through Alt Design Summit, from Alison Faulkner Robertson of The Alison Show. I started with her "How to Use Illustrator to Make Your Brand Yours" class and liked it so much I also took, "Technical Writing for Bloggers" because obviously I need it. I highly recommend the classes and loved the online format. And now if my blog suddenly starts getting awesome...you'll know why;) Alison was delightful and there are several more classes I'd love to take. Alt would love for you to take classes too. For the month of July, thanks to Bing, they have a few ways for you to take classes for free! (#thanksbing)
